Care in detail
Bright, indirect light is best. It tolerates low light, but variegated types may lose their markings.
Let the top layer of soil dry out, then water thoroughly so moisture reaches the whole root zone.
Around 16–21°C at night and 21–29°C during the day. Keep it away from AC vents, heaters and drafty windows.
Yellow leaves often mean overwatering or low nutrients. Root rot comes from too much water or poor drainage. The most likely pests are spider mites and mealybugs.
All parts are toxic: chewing irritates the mouth and throat and can cause vomiting and difficulty swallowing. Keep away from pets and children.
